“Rescue 185” and the “4/14 Window”
For 10 years, Promise Church has focused on children’s mission. The church realized that mission targeting children is a most urgent and effective ministry, and that children are a main force to determine an individual church’s fate as well as the fate of future churches on the mission field. In order to carry out this ministry, Promise Church has 1) established and operated schools locally and overseas, 2) assisted with school facilities and educational programs, 3) hosted seminars on education ministries and vision casting, 4) hosted an international consultation for educational leaders, 5) held children’s evangelization rallies locally and overseas, and 6) hosted the ‘His Life’ musical. We call these various efforts of ministries “Rescue 185.”
“Rescue 185” is our operation command to rescue the 1.85 billion children and teenagers under the age of 15-years in 224 nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In order to carry out this operation effectively, this movement must overcome differences of denominations, ethnic backgrounds and borders, and be carried out by all Christians and churches. Children are the hidden weapons of God against the fast-spreading of the Islamic faith. The whole body of the Church must be united in prayer, cooperation, with an urgency to raise-up a new generation of believers. We have felt the limitations of language and cultural barriers but God confirmed the connections and opened the door of our vision to the international Christian community of leaders. Now, we raise-up the banner of the 4/14 Window with Dr. Luis Bush to expand the Kingdom of God, and echo our vision and dream to all the nations.
While the 10/40 Window is a geographical concept, the 4/14 Window is a generational conception. It indicates the age of children between 4 to 14 years. They are emotionally sensitive with a higher acceptance of the Gospel. Therefore, if we neglect them, they will be a main target of Satan, and we will lose this generation. The 4/14 Window movement is a cry to rescue a new generation with the Gospel before it is too late. The core of our strategy is to raise-up a new generation from the 4/14 Window to transform the world. This is a very realistic and practical strategy.

Case Study – Arise Young Generation!
Glory and praise to God who turns the worst situations into the most joyful ones The Arriba Jóvenes revival night was a time in which Jehova Jireh, our God that has everything under His plan, and Jehova Nissi, our God of victory, filled the Centro de Vida stadium. It is not possible to explain with words all the blessings experienced on that day, but we wish to share with you who have been interceding so faithfully the joyful news of his miracles.
The Arriba Movement, started on February of 2006 with the realization of the Arriba Niños revival, seeks to continue the history-making of the book of Acts in the 21st century, bringing forward the Acts Arriba. The Lord showed his favor and pleasure in the movement through his miracles in each one of the events ever since. The first Arriba Niños was met with a painful bus accident, but God led us to overcome a valley of tears. The first Arriba Jóvenes was met with bone chilling weather conditions, but the Lord provided beautiful warmth that warmed the hearts of all the youth. The second edition of Arriba Niños was met with conditions of extreme heat, however God provided clouds and a breeze that refreshed the hearts of the children present. Missionary Chang Keun Yang shares that although every single year God has been so faithfully providing His miracles, this year’s edition of Arriba Jóvenes still created doubts in his heart. The circumstances surrounding the time of the event were very unfavorable. The world was in an economic crisis, and the pandemic influenza strain had left many dead in Paraguay alone, instilling fear in the hearts of all the inhabitants of Paraguay. More than ever, the realization of Arriba Jóvenes was a road unrealizable by human hands, a true test of faith. Missionary Yang shares that as he prayed, God kept asking him, “You went through the accident and still were able to realize Arriba Niños, didn’t you? Was it you that made it possible? Or was it me? Do you see the desert and the wilderness in front of you? Are you willing to go and experience me, who will make a way through the wilderness, who will give you streams in the desert?” After listening to this, undeniably he decided to follow His Word and prepare for this revival.
After experiencing many difficulties and pains, finally the week before the Arriba Jóvenes came. Again, giants appeared on the road in the form of the weather. The weather forecast predicted that there would be continuous rain during the event, and the International Night had already been cancelled due to the weather conditions. All of these prompted all the ministers and preparational teams to desperately seek the Lord in prayer. Checking the weather forecast every day, at first it was predicted that it would rain form the 6th to the 8th, and then on Tuesday the 4th, the rain forecast for Friday the 7th was reduce to only 20%. The car parade and the first day of the revival went by with beautiful weather; however the second day was met with a persistent rain from the morning.
Completely different from the conditions of the first day, the Saturday morning skies were filled with dark clouds and light drizzle that by 3pm had turned into a torrential downpour. Missionary Yang shares that as he was coming back from dropping off the Korean missionary team at the airport, the thick drops of rain filled him with serious doubts about the realization of the event. However, as he drove onto the stadium grounds, he saw the mission teams and local ministers crying out while getting soaked by the rain, and hot tears rolled down from his eyes. He shares, as “(I) had decided to pray intensely for 30 minutes to wait for a clear answer from God, he (I) fell into a replenishing sleep.” At 5:30pm, a meeting was held to decide upon the continuity of the event. If the rain intensified, there was the danger that it would cause inconveniences in the electrical systems, which consecutively would lay the financial responsibilities on the hosts. Also, heavy rain would mean that many of the attendants might decide not to come. Amongst many options, there was a majority that wanted to postpone the event to the next day. It was at that moment that missionary Yang, with the last word on the continuity of the event, decided by faith to continue its preparation, leaving it completely up to God.
Truly, this was an Arriba Jóvenes started completely by faith in God! Even though the rain was not stopping, the excited youth continued to pour in, and more than 14,000 youth attended the event. At 7:30pm as the local praise team started to lead the worship, the rain began to ease up until 8:30pm, when it became barely noticeable. Ignorant of what the weather conditions were, the youth excitedly concentrated on praising God and listening to His Word. Just the fact that the youth decided to stay in the cold rainy conditions was in itself a greater miracle than the weather. The laptop belonging to the CCM group 20/20 had problems during their performance, which prompted Gabriel Castro, base player, to share his testimony that challenged and broke the crowd.
“Born a Christian, I had assurance of salvation, but I never felt any inclination to share the Gospel with other people. One day, after finding out that the teacher that I had had such respect for over the years was found dead in her room, I decided to commit my life and be devoted to sharing the Gospel. The reason why our group 20/20 is here is not simply to have a time of performance, or singing, but to share the love and salvation of Jesus Christ to each one of you. The reason why you are here in this place is not plain luck, it is by God’s guidance. Would you like to bow down in prayer with me right now?”
Following his prayer, many of the youth prayed together to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, and together sang the lyrics, “God I want to know you, I need you.” Then, Manny Montes, through testimony and praise, gave a greater challenge to the youth, and together with the crowd proclaimed the plan God has to heal and transform Paraguay in “Arriba Jóvenes! Arriba Niños!” All public transportation in Paraguay ceases to function after 11:00pm. It was at this time that the revival ended, and most of the youth would have to walk hours to get to their homes. However, the shining faces of the youth showed no remorse as they praised and uplifted the name of God. May all the glory and all the honor be to God, who provided this miracle and blessed this event.
